In European countries, service animals are allowed regardless of a property’s pet policy and without additional fees. Exceptions may apply in specific health and safety situations, i.e. hosts with certified dangerous allergies don’t have to accept service animals. We recommend reaching out to your host in advance.

What is the definition of an assistance animal?

The following are considered service animals in Europe:

• (Other) classes of assistance dogs

Please keep in mind, that in Europe contrary to the US, for instance, therapy animals (e.g. for anxieties) are not considered service animals.
