Portals Nous is a town on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The village is located in the Tramuntana mountain range and belongs to the municipality of Calvià. Due to its direct location by the sea, it is ideal for bathing and beach holidays. The centre of the island capital Palma is only 12 kilometres away. After Andratx you drive about 20 kilometres by car.

The beach of Portals Nous is called Platja de l´Oratori and is bordered by a rocky outcrop and a harbour dam. A nice sight of Portals Nous is the Oratori. This is a small chapel with outbuildings located on the headland of the Costa de Bendinat above the beach. It can be reached via the steep uphill Carrer Sotelo. At the top you can enjoy the wide sea view.
2. Impressive marina for strolling and diningMake sure you check out the Portals Nous harbour, which is the mooring point for many superyachts, especially during the summer months. The Marina Portals promenade is also located there, where there are many exclusive restaurants and boutiques. Behind the Marineland there is a beach called Cost dén Planes, which has a tennis court and a large waterslide.
4. Take a walk to the viewing platformFor a leisurely walk, it is best to go to Cala de Portals Nous and take the path on the right. This leads you along the bay up to the Punta Portals, a rocky outcrop with a viewing platform. From this hill you can enjoy a view as far as the bay of Palma, which is simply fabulously beautiful.
5. Let the children climb over treetopsNot far from Portals Nous is the Junglepark Junior, a forest course designed for children aged four to eleven. On a total of 50 platforms in six difficulty levels, your little ones can swing from tree to tree, walk over bridges and drop into nets, well secured. The park is open all year round.

It is good to know that the island capital Palma de Mallorca is located not far from Portals Nous. The old town is well worth seeing and offers numerous restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities as well as some architectural jewels. Visit the cathedral church of La Seu, built in 1230.
