Portals Nous is a luxury and affluent resort with a number of villas that you can rent as a holiday home. Portals Nous is a town on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The village is located in the Tramuntana mountain range and belongs to the municipality of Calvià. Due to its direct location by the sea, it is ideal for bathing and beach holidays. The centre of the island capital Palma is only 12 kilometres away. After Andratx you drive about 20 kilometres by car.

The beach of Portals Nous is called Platja de l´Oratori and is bordered by a rocky outcrop and a harbour dam. Due to the small offshore rock island, the waves are very calm so that you can really enjoy swimming here. To the west of Platja de l´Oratori there is another beach called Platja de Portals Nous, which also has a large sports facility with tennis courts.

Portals Nous is the meeting place for everything of importance. Even the royal family likes to spend their free days in this holiday resort. At the harbour there are magnificent yachts. The townscape is characterised by impressive villas and chalets. The richness of Portals Nous is also visible in the expensive car brands of the inhabitants, which come from Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche. Design clothing by Gucci, Channel and Co. is sold in the luxury boutiques on the Hafenboulevard.

A nice sight of Portals Nous is the Oratori. This is a small chapel with outbuildings located on the headland of the Costa de Bendinat above the beach. It can be reached via the steep uphill Carrer Sotelo. At the top you can enjoy the wide sea view.

Make sure you check out the Portals Nous harbour, which is the mooring point for many superyachts, especially during the summer months. The Marina Portals promenade is also located there, where there are many exclusive restaurants and boutiques. The gourmet temple Tristan, the most expensive restaurant on the whole island, can be found here as well as big boat agencies. But there are also some pubs and restaurants of the middle category, which offer you a wonderful scenery for dining from the terrace at the Yachthafenkai.

The Marineland is a marine aquarium where you can observe dolphins, tropical fish and sea lions. This amusement park is particularly suitable for families with children who want to explore the underwater world. Behind the Marineland there is a beach called Cost dén Planes, which has a tennis court and a large waterslide.

For a leisurely walk, it is best to go to Cala de Portals Nous and take the path on the right. This leads you along the bay up to the Punta Portals, a rocky outcrop with a viewing platform. From this hill you can enjoy a view as far as the bay of Palma, which is simply fabulously beautiful.

Not far from Portals Nous is the Junglepark Junior, a forest course designed for children aged four to eleven. On a total of 50 platforms in six difficulty levels, your little ones can swing from tree to tree, walk over bridges and drop into nets, well secured. The park is open all year round.

It is good to know that the island capital Palma de Mallorca is located not far from Portals Nous. The old town is well worth seeing and offers numerous restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities as well as some architectural jewels. Visit the cathedral church of La Seu, built in 1230. Also recommendable are the unique chocolate cafés, which serve you this delicious sweet in liquid form.
