Hidden Gems for Santorini
Find great things to do in Santorini
Blazing white cliff-side homes, topped with deep blue roofs – these are symbols of Greece. Santorini is a good place to watch stunning sunsets, eat in local taverns (the catch of the day) and stroll through the narrow streets in traditional, charming Greek villages. In our travel guide you will find great things to do in Santorini.
1. Hidden Gem Santorini: Pyrgos
If you want a little bit of silence and serenity on your trip, then drive to Pyrgos and explore this small village. It is definitely less “tourist-y” than Oia and Fira and offers a quaint, homey charm. Cats stroll lazily through the alleys, families dress up in their Sunday bests to go to church, and piano lessons can be heard through the open windows. Just climb up the hill to the church and enjoy the stunning view of the sea or just walk through the narrow streets and explore the relaxed beauty of Pygros.

2. Hidden Gem Santorini: Amoudi Bay
This bay near Oia is well-known for it´s good seafood restaurants and for cliff-jumping. When you arrive at the port you can stroll around, have lunch in one of the incredibly good restaurants (be sure to try the catch of the day) and explore some beautiful swimming spots. It is just 300 steps away from Oia, so drive there and then walk down to the small port. If you are brave enough, you should definitely take a leap from the cliffs – at least once!

3. Hidden Gem Santorini: Open Air Cinema Kamari
This is – aside from the the sunset-watching, of course – a pretty good evening program when you are in Santorini. Starting in May, you can watch different movies at the Open Air Cinema Kamari. Warm summer nights, an entertaining movie and a good glass of wine…how great does that sound? The cinema is located at the entrance to Kamari town on the main road to Fira, with a bus station just across the cinema entrance.

4. Hidden Gem Santorini: Brusco
This lovely deli offers organic and local specialties and overlooks the Pygros village square. Its terrace is a great spot for relaxing and enjoying life with a good cup of coffee in hand. If you come hungry, make sure to order the Greek plate. It contains lots of delicious and traditional snacks like olives, sausages, bruschetta with tapenade, sun dried tomatoes and tzatziki.
