France´s third largest city has established itself as a cultural hub. It is not as chic as Paris and not as glamorous as Nice, but simply easy, friendly, fun and pretty. In our travel guide you will find great things to do in Lyon.

1. Hidden Gem Lyon: Les Cafetiers

If you want to enjoy a good cup of coffee, find a place for working while people watching or have a great lunch with friends, this is the place to go to. It is also a great brunch spot, especially on the weekends. On Saturday and Sunday a big brunch is served from 10 am to 4pm for 23 €. It includes everything the breakfast heart is craving for. The scandinavian interior with wooden design tables, hanging bulbs and the green patio for summer invites for staying here a couple of hours.

2. Hidden Gem Lyon: Les Puces du Canal

This market is France´s second-biggest flea market. You can find here over 400 stands. It is a great place to browse for antiques, furniture and other beautiful hidden gems. For a little treasure hunting break you can also find a few snack stands and restaurants around. Les Puces du Canal is located in Villeurbanne on the outskirts of Lyon, on the Jonage Canal, and is the most famous Sunday activity. You can come here by bus and metro.

3. Hidden Gem Lyon: Terre Adelice Glacier

This is for sure the best gelateria in Lyon. It is located in the city center and has a huge selection of ice cream. No matter if you are the type of person who loves the traditional or the fancy flavours, you will definitely have a hard choice. They are all simply delicious. The scoops are a bit pricy but the taste pays that off. How about a ginger ice combined with chocolate sorbet?
