1. Hidden Gem Crete: Avli

The restaurant scene is without a doubt one of the most paradisiacal on the greek island. Avil actually means “the garden.”; that´s the reason why the whole sitting area is surrounded by plenty of flowers and trees. The wine and all dishes are super delicious! Exclusive flavors and high level of aesthetics. Where: Old Town of Rethymno

3. Hidden Gem Crete: Agreco Taverna

If you like enjoying fresh dishes and exploring new delicacies, the “Agreco” might be just the place for you. You can be sure that every meal served on your plate grew organically and is freshly picked from the restaurant’s own farm. The seasonal menu is full of Greek specialties and you will dine surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The farm is located only 10 kilometers from Rethymno, and if you’d like to explore the farm, you can take a tour right before you dine.. During the summer, the tavern is open Tuesday through Sunday, and as
“Agreco” is quite popular, we recommend making a reservation.

4. Hidden Gem Crete: Loutro

This little fishing village is for sure unique. You can only access Loutro by boat and not via any road. Drive to Sfakia first and then book the boat to the village. The super peaceful atmosphere is perfect for sitting in one of the wonderful cafes for a while and then, when you get too hot, jumping into the crystal clear water.
