The Linville River enters the gorge right at Linville Falls and it has a drop of 90 feet. If you wish to see other waterfalls, you can also take a 1.6-mile hike from Blue Ridge Parkway. On the trail you will encounter four separate lookouts including Duggers Creek Falls and Crabtree Falls.

Take a road trip in North Carolina. This 469-mile road is known to be America’s favorite drive. The road was designed by the landscape architect Stanley Abbott and it will provide you a great scenery from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Visit a gorgeous estate. This 8,000-acre compound has much to offer, from the Vanderbilt Mansion to the estate’s gardens. Take a stroll around the courtyards or a private tour of the 250 rooms with impressive artworks.

Visit the animals. Located in Asheboro, this zoo has over five miles of paved pathways where you will be able to encounter over 1,600 animals more than 52,000 species of plants.

Stroll around a coastal park. This is known to be the country’s first coastal preservation area and it can be found in the Outer Bank regions. Perfect place to go bird-watching and picking up oysters.
