Ventura is a historical treasure dating back a millennia or two. Check out the Museum of Ventura County founded by Dr. Cephas Bard, the first doctor to enter the region in 1913. The San Buenaventura Mission was founded in 1782 by Saint Junípero Serra, a Franciscan monk from Spain. This present-day “Mission by the Sea” is a World Heritage site and active Catholic church. While you’re here, explore Native American Chumash artifacts, architectural relics, and magnificent fountains. Its resplendent grotto, and charming garden will grant you impressive photos.

Go whale-watching and island hopping aboard this state-of-the-art cruise ship. Stop at some of the islands and do some breathtaking snorkeling in the kelp beds. Take the time to enjoy the beautiful flowers and tasty produce from the islands as well before you leave.
