There are stunning sections of trail right along the shimmering water of the lake with plenty of scenic spots to sit down in the cool breeze or stop for a picnic. Trails range from 1 to 7 miles and the path meanders through pine and hardwood forest with an abundance of seasonal mountain laurel. You will traverse rocky outcrops and bluffs en route. This is a splendid place for peace, solitude and reconnecting with nature.

Just 5 miles north of the lake you will find the gorgeous Russell Crossroads community hub. This historical, community gathering spot is a wonderful venue for seasonal events and is located in a gorgeous pastoral setting. Visit the stables at Russell Crossroads and admire the beautiful architecture, lovely horses and fairytale rustic wedding venue setting. Wonderful guided trail rides are available here.
