The municipality of Bled on the lake of the same name offers you a variety of holiday apartments in the town centre, from where you can reach the shopping centre, the casino and the restaurants of the village in just a few minutes on foot. On the western shore there is also a wonderful pebble beach where you can also get drinks and snacks. Explore the lake shore on foot or try the summer toboggan run above the lake. There are also rafting tours, parachute jumps and many mountain bike and racing bike tours nearby.

On the mountain above the lake there are two ski lifts that take you to a run of about one kilometre. In addition Bled and its surroundings offer miles of well groomed cross-country ski runs.

The castle of Bled is situated on a freestanding rock at about 139 metres above sea level. In the year 1000 a keep with a fortified wall probably stood on this site. Today's castle has towers and a palace from the High Middle Ages, a Romanesque defensive wall and a reconstructed drawbridge. You can also visit the museum in the castle's farm building and the castle chapel.

In Bled every year there is a New Year's concert worth listening to in the festival hall of the community. World-class violinists can be seen at the Violina Festival in June and July. Also worth mentioning is the No Border Music Festfal in August, where special bands from many parts of the world perform. Don't miss the Christmas concert and the torchlight procession as well as the annual New Year's Eve fireworks at the lake.

In every café and restaurant in Bled you will find the original Bleder Cremeschnitten, freshly prepared daily by the confectioner at the Parkhotel. This is the regional speciality from Bled, which is very caloric but also incomparably delicious.
