Nature, culture & enjoyment on Fanø

The ferry takes you from Esbjerg to the island of Fanø in 12 minutes. Even on the crossing, you will encounter beautiful nature, with sandbanks where seals often rest. There are plenty of activities on Fanø all year round, and the shallow sandy beaches are among the best and most child-friendly in Denmark.

The 60 km² island is perfect for cycling. There is a beautiful cycle path from Nordby to Sønderho in the south and there are also guided cycle tours where you can visit the various sights on the island.

Diverse beach activities are very popular on Fanø. In addition to hang-gliding, amber hunting and surfing, you can also go karting on the wide beaches. The island's numerous restaurants and cafés offer culinary experiences with local produce. Fanø also has its own brewery and various types of rum and gin from local producers.
