Villa Elsa is an exclusive property located in Fornillo, a famous neighbourhood of Positano perched on a rock overlooking the sea. The beach of the same name can be reached on foot, via stairs, in about 10 minutes. The villa is a unique example of 15th century 'Positanese' architecture with arabesque elements and colourful majolica tiles, constituting the unique mélange that distinguishes the Positanese style.
The villa can be reached from Viale Pasitea, only on foot, walking down a typical Positano street with about 150 steps. The porter service will be at your disposal to transport even the heaviest luggage.
Like any self-respecting Positano house, externally it has a clean, white style, with wide arches and balconies, ready to give the view a unique panorama. Entering through the small wooden door, one has access to the 'hidden gem', an internal courtyard partially covered by wide vaulted ceilings with old terracotta floors. The typical bougainvillea plant and the cacti that surround the entrance to the dwelling mingle well with the ancient well, Carrara marble benches, Vietri-style lava stone tables, and architectural elements reminiscent of the Renaissance.
The ground floor consists of three large, communicating rooms with balconies overlooking the courtyard. The first door gives access to the masonry kitchen with wood-burning oven. Wooden lintels and antique cupboards, decorated with Vietri ceramics, make the room unique, yet easy to use at the same time. A central table, surrounded by wooden benches and marble seats, makes it possible to prepare a rich breakfast. The kitchen, partially hidden behind the lintel, consists of a 6-burner induction hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, marble sink and everything needed for preparing meals. Small cellar room with large fridge/freezer behind the kitchen.
From the kitchen there is access to the hall adorned with a collection of ceramics from every corner of Italy, from Caltagirone to Deruta, not to forget Vietri sul Mare.
A service bathroom is connected to the dining room. Continuing on we find a large reception hall, with a 50' inch flat screen TV, desk, bookcase, various armchairs and sofas, with a fireplace and bar corner. It should be noted that the lounge area has an enhanced wifi connection, to allow you to work in peace, even while enjoying the outdoor area.
A grand ivory marble staircase leads to the upper floor, which houses two bedrooms with private bathrooms.
The first double bedroom is located to the right of the staircase and is furnished with French-style furniture, a complete bathroom in shades of green embellished with brass details comprising a large walk-in shower, bidet, toilet and washbasin.
The second room is accessible by a staircase to the side of the honour room. The bathroom is a very large open-plan . Decorated in shades of pink it consists of a jacuzzi bath, toilet, bidet and washbasin.
From the bathroom one passes to the bedroom, with two single beds that can be converted into a double bed.
Both bedrooms are air-conditioned and have a large terrace overlooking the sea.
