St Neot 1 miles.
This cosy, quirky 300-year old detached cottage is a converted blacksmith's workshop set in the six cottage hamlet of Treverbyn, close to the village of St Neot on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor.
Perfectly situated for walkers and, being so centrally located, ideal for touring all of Cornwall.
You will sense the relaxing feeling that exudes throughout with old beams, stone walls, and original features the moment you enter.
Through the small kitchen enter the splendid living room with spacious sitting and dining areas and woodburner, to keep the cosy feel throughout.
Next to the living room is the master double bedroom, with the original blacksmith's bench acting as a window seat, and the twin bedroom with antique-styled bed frames is on the first floor.
Directly opposite this delightful cottage is a small field for your use and for exercising dogs, together with seating and a barbecue, an idyllic spot for enjoying a relaxing drink after a days walking in this beautiful moorland location.
Free range eggs are available from the farm opposite, ideal for breakfast and setting you up for the day ahead.
One walk recommended right from the door is the Two Valleys walk along quiet footpaths, enjoying pretty riverside scenery with plenty of wildlife and great picnic spots.
This walk also takes you through the beautiful village of St Neot, and gives you the opportunity to sample well-deserved refreshment at the London Inn, a traditional whitewashed pub with dining room and a beer garden.
When here, make sure you take time to look next door at the wonderful historic ornate granite church and the holy well, which is a short walk away.
Also close by, and well worth a visit, is the National Nature Reserve of the Golitha Falls and also Cardinham Woods, perfect for both cycling and walking.
A great location for a holiday at any time of year, well off the beaten track, but located in the centre of Cornwall, making everywhere in the county easily accessible.
