Your future team

  • You will be part of the Conqueror team in the Guest Experience department. The team is responsible for Guests' journey from showing details about apartments, guiding them through the entire checkout process, and finishing with a booking confirmation. 
  • You will contribute to the success of Holidu by constantly improving the user experience, making the process smooth and joyful — that ultimately increases the conversion rate and makes many-many travellers happy!
  • Your team will consist of backend and frontend engineers (direct reports), as well as a project manager, a designer, and a QA engineer.
  • You will be working in close collaboration with the Bookings, Companion, and Fintech teams that are responsible for booking, payments, and post-booking experience/systems.

Our Tech Stack

  • We write Frontend in Typescript and run NodeJS processes in Kubernetes.
  • We use ReactJS, Zustand and TailwindCSS on the client and Express on the server.
  • Backend applications are written in Java 17/21 and Kotlin (with Spring Boot).
  • Deployed as microservices on AWS-hosted Kubernetes cluster (EKS).
  • Data storage with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch 7 and Redshift (as part of a data lake structure).
  • We store data in Elasticsearch 7, PostgreSQL, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis.
  • We heavily use AWS, Docker, Jenkins, Git.
  • We monitor using ELK, Grafana, Looker and internally developed technologies.

Your role in this journey

  • Lead a high-performing cross-functional team with a strong focus on product, velocity, quality, engineering culture, and growth of the team.
  • Define the team's OKRs together with the PM, and provide upward stakeholder management to ensure alignment.
  • You will have full responsibility for the delivery of features affecting 100 million users each year.
  • Work closely with product management, product design, and stakeholders to define the team's goals and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with peers, staff engineers, and other stakeholders to drive strategic technology decisions.
  • You will lead strategic team-driven projects, identify opportunities, define and uphold quality standards, mentor engineers and participate in the hiring process of new engineers.
  • Focus on the growth of your team by offering consistent and valuable feedback and recruiting new engineers.
  • Foster a great team culture aligned with the company values.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, autonomy, and inclusivity within your team and the entire department.

Your backpack is filled with

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience building and implementing backend services and/or frontend applications.
  • Experience providing technical leadership (e.g., setting goals and priorities, architecture design, task planning and code reviews).
  • Experience as a people manager with the ability to build an excellent team culture based on mutual respect, empathy, learning and support for each other.
  • Love for building world-class products with a great user experience.
