Eiderstedt is a peninsula on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein and belongs to the district of Nordfriesland. It was built around 1200 A.D. by dykes to gain land. Eiderstedt is 30 kilometres long and 15 kilometres wide and originally consisted of two islands and a peninsula.
